On fixed income,and can not get Medicaid,wife has diabetic,heart trouble,and need laser surgery to remove cataracts and place lens in,were can we get any help?

Sheila M worked for many years in ceramic emitter manufacturing. She is no longer employed there. Sheila has developed cataracts (clouded areas) on her eyes. If they continue, she will become blind. The medical community suspects that she was over exposed to microwave radiation at her previous job. There is a high incidence of cataracts in people associated with high levels of microwaves. The cataracts can be removed, but require expensive surgery. Her present job does not provide insurance and she does not have any other insurance protection. Who should pay for Sheila’s surgery?

What factors should be considered in deciding who should pay?

I’m looking for some advice. My wife’s dad is an extremely hard working brick mason. He has owned his own business now for over 30 years. Since the economy has done what it’s done, he hasn’t worked steadily in a few years. He is a great brick mason! He went to the doctor and the doctor said he has very bad cataracts in both of his eyes and if he didn’t get them fixed soon, he could lose vision in both of his eyes. He doesn’t have any money and doesn’t have medicare or medicaid or anything, and no one wants to help. The cheapest cataract surgery we can find in Georgia is around $2000 per eye. We don’t know what to do. I’m hoping someone on this board can help guide us to something. Thanks so much!
He doesn’t have any kind of health insurance or anything.

My mom is 62 and does not have ins. or medicaid and disparately needs cataract surgery, she is raising her two grandchildren on about 700.00 a month social security (theirs) and has none of her own and does not quailfy for any type of medicaid or medicare. She only has about 20% vision. She lives in Texas. Are there organizations which help with this?

–In the last sentence, I am not sure if “ideals” is the right word to use to describe what I mentioned in the first 2 sentences…also, the last sentence sounds awkward, especially the part “…and used them to succeed to many aspects of my life, including in high school and…” Any suggestions?

“I raised money and collected eyeglasses before departing to India. The money was used to cover the cost of the cataract surgeries that were provided for the Indians for free.”
–Is there a better way to phrase the last sentence?

i found a dog in the wal-mart parking lot she was infested with fleas and had alot of knots i took her home to give her a bath to my surprise she is blind i took her to my vet and they gave me an estimate of how much cataract surgery would cost does anyone know of an organization that might help me to get her eyes fixed she is precious and i am going to keep her but she isnt but 9 months old some one help please

my reg vet cant do the surgery i have to take her to an ophthamologist surgeon vetinarian and i would never be able to get rid of maggie this is my baby i cant have kids so this is like my child i spoil her rotten i just wish i could get her eyes fixed so bad its pittiful to watch her run into walls some one please help

I have a 10 yr old shih tzu. He is perfectly healthy, with the exception of his eyes. He’s been diagnosed with dry eyes (in his left eye), which is being treated. He also has a cataract in that eye, and one ectopic eye lash.

I want to know how much cataract surgery costs and how successful it is? How much Laser Eyelash Removal costs? and How much freezing the eyelash costs (cryoepilation)?

Please help!!!
The opthalmologist is treating the dry eye first, and then we go back in a month to recheck the other issues and decide what (if anything) needs surgery. We’ve gotten a range for the freezing from $500-$2000. But would like to know what people’s experiences were, so we know what to expect when we go in for the appointment.

This child got a traumatic cataract following perfoating a corneoscleral injury.
We do not know the state of the retina but we want to give him a chance.
1. He will need cataract surgery with an intra ocular lens = 35,000 /=
2. If the retina is found detached , he will need to be referred to mengo for further retinal detachment surgery approximately 100,000/=
3. Post operatively , he will come for a review for a minimum of foru times but each visit , the medications do not exceed 10,000 /= U sh.
4 . When he has recovered , he will need spectacle correction for any refractive errors at a cost of about 100,000/=(bifocal) .

These are the expected hospital costs.
If they opt to sleep in a private room , this at rate of 10,000/= per night.
At each surgery, they may stay for 4 days.
Other costs I am not sure of are transport costs and personal maintainnce for the child and attendant while in hospital.
